Soho House Migrates South to Miami Beach

Having already conquered London, Berlin, New York, and Los Angeles, the Soho House is setting its sights on South Beach. Well, slightly north of there on Miami Beach’s legendary Collins Avenue, where the Soho Beach House is opening this month on the site of the historic art deco Sovereign Hotel.
The latest outpost from the swanky members-only chain of clubs and open-to-the-public hotels will once again feature its trademark combination in a redesigned and expanded property that now features a 16-story oceanfront tower.

A collaboration between Soho House founder Nick Jones and designer Martin Brudnizki, the talent behind the recently opened Le Caprice at New York’s Pierre Hotel, the Soho Beach House boasts 50 guest rooms, a ground-floor drawing room with a grand piano, an outpost of West Hollywood hotspot Cecconi’s, a 100-foot-long pool surrounded by lush gardens and a tiki bar—and that’s all before you reach the second floor.
There you will encounter the club bar, an homage to 1940’s Cuba that features vintage wood paneling, antique tiles, and ceiling fans to sway the Atlantic Ocean breezes that move in underneath a retractable awning. Nearby are a comfy digital screening room and a spa with six ocean-facing mani-pedi chairs, five private treatment rooms, and steam rooms.

The South American-influenced guest rooms in the upper floors boast one-off antique furnishings and rainforest showers. On the top floor is the library-like club lounge and yet another pool and bar, this one stocked with double sun loungers and breathtaking sunset views that will put dreary London to shame.
